Tink is a European open banking platform that was founded in 2012 in Stockholm, Sweden, and acquired by Visa in 2022. The company provides open banking infrastructure and APIs that enable banks, fintechs, and startups to access aggregated financial data, initiate payments, enrich transactions, verify account ownership, and build personal finance management tools. Tink connects to more than 3,400 banks and financial institutions, reaching over 250 million bank customers across Europe through a single API integration. The platform serves more than 300 banks and fintechs across 18 European markets, with offices in 13 countries including the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the Nordics. Major clients include PayPal, Klarna, NatWest, ABN AMRO, BNP Paribas Fortis, Nordea, and SEB. In 2020, Tink acquired Madrid-based Eurobits Technologies for €15.5 million, which expanded its connectivity capabilities in Southern Europe and Latin America. Through this acquisition, Tink gained access to account aggregation services in Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, and Peru, though its primary operations remain focused on European markets. The platform is used by more than 4,000 developers to build data-driven financial services. As part of Visa, Tink continues to operate under its existing leadership team led by CEO and co-founder Daniel Kjellén, with the acquisition enabling broader connectivity to Visa's network of over 15,000 financial institutions globally.
