Moffin is a data integration platform-as-a-service (iPaaS) company based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, founded in 2020 by Santiago Aceves, Víctor Agustín Díaz Méndez, and Nicholas Andrés Yepes. The company provides a unified platform that helps financial institutions and businesses across Mexico digitize client screening, credit analysis, and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. Moffin integrates multiple data sources including credit bureaus, tax authorities, and alternative data providers into a single system, eliminating the need for costly in-house data integration infrastructure. The platform is accessible through both REST API and no-code forms, allowing companies to collect, evaluate, and interpret data about individuals and businesses for applications ranging from credit evaluations to tenant screenings, employment background checks, and risk assessments. Moffin serves more than 70 companies across Mexico in industries spanning financial services, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors requiring robust client verification capabilities. The platform has processed over one million screenings and aims to improve financial inclusion by enabling institutions to better assess thin-file and no-file customers who lack traditional credit histories. In July 2024, Moffin completed a $2.1 million seed funding round led by Accion Venture Lab and Chile Ventures, with participation from Fondation Botnar, New Ventures Capital, Rally Cap Ventures, Digital Currency Group, Carabela, and AngelHub. The company reached profitability in August 2023 and is using the funding to enhance platform capabilities, particularly in automating monitoring, compliance, data analytics, and regulatory tasks. Moffin is pursuing ISO 27001 certification to strengthen its data security practices. The company recently announced plans to release tools for monitoring and fraud prevention, expanding its service offerings for clients leveraging digital lending, buy-now-pay-later, embedded finance, and AI-based solutions.
