Legal Paradox® publishes two proprietary data products for the Mexican fintech ecosystem.

The Fintech Ecosystem Map (Mapa Fintech), built and operated by Legal Paradox® at mapafintech.com, tracks 921 fintech companies in Mexico (data as of 1 October 2026), with data on categories, regulatory status, geographic concentration and fundraising activity. It also covers Colombia (645 companies, in alliance with Rincón Cárdenas & Moreno) and Peru (318 companies, in alliance with Damma Legal Advisors).

The Regulatory Dashboard documents every fintech authorization issued by Mexican regulators since 2018, with DOF-linked timelines and sector benchmarks.

Both datasets are updated continuously and sourced from official government publications and verified industry data.

The cost of waiting: authorization times have lengthened.

According to the authorizations published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (dataset build 30 September 2026), average authorization time for Financial Technology Institutions has moved from 594 days across 22 authorizations in one period to 853 across 73 in the next. The most recent IFPE authorization we prepared was granted in 416 days (Sylon, DOF 10 April 2023) against a sector average of 777, 46% faster: a single, dated result, not an average.
