Aspel is a Mexican software company that develops administrative and accounting solutions primarily for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MiPymes) in Mexico and Latin America. Founded in 1981, the company has over 40 years of experience providing business management software that automates accounting, inventory management, invoicing, payroll, point of sale, and other administrative processes. Aspel serves more than one million SME clients across Mexico and has facilitated digital transformation for businesses by offering tools that ensure compliance with Mexican fiscal regulations, including electronic invoicing (CFDI), electronic accounting, and electronic payroll receipts as mandated by the tax authority (SAT). The company's flagship product, Aspel SAE (Sistema Administrativo Empresarial), is a comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that enables businesses to manage sales, inventory, purchasing, and customer relationships from a single platform. Other products in the portfolio include specialized modules for accounting, payroll, and point of sale operations. In February 2022, Aspel was acquired by Siigo, a Colombian-based software company backed by private equity firm Accel-KKR, forming Siigo Aspel. This acquisition consolidated the combined entity as a market leader in Latin American accounting and administrative software for SMEs, serving over 1.2 million customers across Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Peru, and Chile. Following the acquisition, Siigo committed over 20 million dollars in investment to develop cloud-based ERP solutions for the Mexican market. Aspel operates with more than 200 employees across multiple offices in Mexico including Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mérida, Veracruz, Tijuana, Querétaro, and León, and maintains a network of over 3,000 certified distributors and resellers.
