Grupo Bursátil Mexicano (GBM) is a leading investment platform and brokerage firm in Mexico, established in 1978 and headquartered in Mexico City. Operating as GBM Casa de Bolsa, the company is regulated by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) and listed on the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores as Corporativo GBM. GBM serves as the largest independent asset management firm in Mexico, holding over MXN 800 billion in assets under custody and handling approximately 16 percent of Mexican capital market operations. The company provides investment services to retail clients, institutional investors, corporations, and external financial advisors. GBM transformed its business model beginning in 2016 with the launch of its digital platform GBM+, which democratizes access to investment products previously available only to high-net-worth individuals. The GBM+ mobile and web application offers three core product lines: Smart Cash for low-risk liquid investments with daily availability, Wealth Management for personalized investment strategies with professional advisory services, and Trading for direct access to over 6,000 stocks and ETFs from Mexican and U.S. markets including NYSE and NASDAQ. The platform supports fractional share purchases, investment in mutual funds, government bonds, CETEs, retirement accounts with tax benefits, and securities lending. GBM experienced exponential growth from 38,000 investment accounts in January 2020 to over 1 million accounts by early 2021, representing the company's successful digital transformation. In June 2021, GBM received up to $150 million investment from SoftBank Latin America Fund at a valuation exceeding $1 billion, achieving unicorn status. The company also operates GBM Investor, registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to provide offshore investment services through UCITS ETFs. GBM maintains subsidiaries in Brazil, the United States, and Chile, and serves major global corporations including Netflix, Google, and BlackRock, along with 40 percent of Mexico's largest public corporations.
