Contalink

Contalink is a cloud-based accounting automation platform targeting independent accountants, accounting firms, and small to medium-sized enterprises in Mexico. Founded in 2014 by Eduardo Williams and Carlos Salinas in Monterrey, Nuevo León, the company provides Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions designed to modernize accounting practices and reduce operational workload. The platform automates key accounting processes including bookkeeping, electronic invoicing (CFDI management), tax declarations, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and financial reporting. Contalink addresses a significant market opportunity in Mexico, where approximately 80 percent of accountants still use legacy desktop software. The company raised $2.1 million in seed funding in March 2022 from notable investors including Y Combinator, 500 Global, Scribble Ventures, Kalonia, and SOMA Capital. As of early 2022, the platform served over 4,000 accountants managing more than 20,000 SMEs in Mexico. The multi-tenant architecture is hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure and allows users to manage unlimited clients simultaneously with access via web and mobile applications. Contalink operates on a subscription-based business model and offers accountants the ability to automate bookkeeping processes up to five times faster than traditional methods. The platform integrates with Mexican tax authority (SAT) requirements and includes features for bank reconciliation, expense tracking, and real-time financial analysis. The company has also integrated ChatGPT functionality to provide AI-assisted accounting support.
