Pacto

Pacto is a Mexico City-based fintech company founded in 2021 by Ryan Croft, Gordon Whitehouse, and Rodrigo Kuri that develops B2B payment software and point-of-sale solutions for the hospitality sector in Latin America. The company operates as a SaaS platform that combines front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant management software with integrated payment processing capabilities. Pacto initially launched as a mobile ordering platform before evolving into a comprehensive all-in-one POS system designed specifically for restaurants and bars.

The company positions itself as an embedded software and payments platform that partners with banks and financial institutions to modernize their digital payment offerings. Pacto enables merchants to move beyond cash-based transactions through cloud-based software accessible via computers, tablets, or smartphones. The platform allows businesses to process orders, manage inventory, track sales, generate reports, and handle payment processing through a single integrated system. A key differentiator is that Pacto offers its platform without upfront or subscription fees, instead earning revenue through transaction processing in partnership with payment acquirers.

Pacto has established a strategic commercial alliance with Getnet México, Banco Santander's payment system, which distributes the Pacto platform to its network of restaurant and bar merchants. The company reports contributing to revenue increases of 19 percent and tip increases of 50 percent for participating merchants. As of 2024, Pacto processed over one million transactions.

The company has raised a total of USD 6 million in funding, including a USD 2 million pre-seed round in April 2022 and a USD 4 million seed round in April 2023 led by DILA Capital, with participation from FEMSA Ventures, 500 Global, August Hill, Polymath Ventures, and Georgetown Angel Investor Network. In April 2025, Pacto was selected as one of seven startups globally to join the Mastercard Start Path Acceptance program, one of only two Latin American companies in that cohort. Pacto is headquartered at Paseo de la Reforma 296 in Mexico City and employs approximately 30 people.
